The power and paradox of doubt- Dr Kate Goodger
Dr Kate Goodger, one of the UK’s most experienced Performance Psychologist, shared practical insights into the psychology of confidence and high performance. Drawing on wealth of experience supporting elite Olympic athletes and talented women in leadership throughout their careers, she explained how understanding how the brain’s response to challenge can help individuals reset their mindset and build confidence over time.
Her message was both practical and empowering. Rather than waiting until confidence arrives, delegates were encouraged to embrace discomfort, face challenges head-on and build resilience through experience. "Fake it until you make it", stepping outside comfort zones and learning through doing were all highlighted as practical approaches to developing confidence and achieving long-term success.
This Summit session was aimed particularly at those in the early stages of their career and complemented the presentations provided by the Junior Working Group with workable methods of turning experience into confidence and self-belief.
