Recognition to reality: Emerging Talent brought together finalists and winners from the Women in Defence UK Emerging Talent Award category over the last six years for an inspirational panel session at the Critical Mass Summit. The panelists reflected on the achievements that led to their recognition, what receiving the award has meant to them personally and how it has supported their career progression.
While each panelist’s journey was unique, a common theme emerged: using their success to create opportunities for others. Whether inspiring future generations, designing equipment that better meet women's needs, or mentoring women from ethnic communities pursuing STEM careers, each has become an ambassador for positive change across defence. Their work embodies the Women in Defence UK commitment to allyship, equity and inclusion, demonstrating that individual success becomes even more powerful when it enables others to thrive.
