Northrop Grumman: promote diversity of background, thought and experiences

Nick Chaffey, Chief Executive of Northrop Grumman UK, shares his message of support

Northrop Grumman in the UK has been a supporter of Women in Defence UK for more than ten years and is proud to have played a part in helping make possible the inspiring work the organisation undertakes.

Defence is at the forefront of innovation and delivers critical solutions that keep our country and its allies safe. We operate in a rapidly changing world and we must work collaboratively, nurturing and promoting diversity of background, thought and experiences to solve the complex challenges we face. At Northrop Grumman we actively encourage all our people to bring their whole selves to work.

Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion working group has representatives from across the whole organisation, striving to continuously improve and create an environment where everyone can succeed. Alongside upholding our commitments to the Women in Defence Charter we are a proud supporter of the Champion in Maximising Talent Award. We know that we all have a role to play in ensuring that we maximise women’s talent in the Defence community. We plan to do this through celebrating the contribution of those who have improved, role-modelled and supported others through their career journeys starting from the moment of first engagement through to development and retention of women employees.

The nominees for the Champion in Maximising Talent Award represent the best from our community and we look forward to recognising and celebrating their outstanding commitment and contribution to the development of women in defence.
