Royal Navy: The commitment, spirit and drive of women

Admiral Sir Ben Key, First Sea Lord, Royal Navy, shares his message of support

The Royal Navy is once again delighted to support the superb work of Women in Defence UK. The Awards have gone from strength to strength, exemplified this year by the nearly 470 nominations across 10 categories.

Sponsoring the Resolute Spirit Award, we recognise the commitment, spirit and drive of women to achieve their goals despite obstacles they have faced or challenges they have had to overcome, and we celebrate their success in doing so.

The 6 individuals shortlisted for this prize represent the very best of their organisations and sectors. Simply by being shortlisted, they have demonstrated their impact in helping us to understand what we can do to shape the environment we seek to develop – more diverse, more inclusive, more effective; a better place to work and to have a career, whilst always striving to do even better.

I offer my sincere congratulations to all those involved in this year’s awards. I look forward to hearing of the journeys and stories of the nominees in particular.
