Captain Victoria Kinkaid
Victoria is an Army doctor who is passionate about women's health. She works as a General Duties Medical Officer at Dalton Barracks and is part of the Academic Department of Military General Practice, researching reproductive health in UK servicewomen.
She has several additional Military duties, including being a trained Human Security Advisor and the Army lead of the Women's Health Special Interest Group which is focused on ensuring the provision of the best healthcare to UK servicewomen. She also established the UK Armed Forces’ first Military Abortion Support service – a team of trained volunteers who support their fellow service personnel navigate abortion decisions.
Outside of the Military, Victoria is a mum of one, a mentor, podcast host and has co-founded a charity called "The FGM Education Project", with the goal of spreading information about FGM on how to recognise and manage FGM for frontline professionals.
In 2024, Victoria won the ‘Inspirational’ award and was named ‘Woman of the Year’ at the Women in Defence awards.
Victoria is passionate about bridging the gap between scientific research and user-friendly information in women’s health, to ensure women are empowered to make informed decisions about their care.
