Leading Rate Supply Chain Lin La Corbiniere

LSC Lin La Corbiniere

Born on the Caribbean island of St Lucia, I migrated to the UK as a child with my family, where I continued my education years up to A-levels in London. A very active member of the debating team and the Greenwich Young People’s Council, I grew an interest in Law at a very young age. After college I attended the University of Portsmouth in 2007 to undertake my LLB Law degree. Having completed 2 years of my degree, I had to put my studies on hold to accommodate other personal obligations.

In December 2018, I attended HMS RALEIGH to undertake phase 1 training in the RN. Being unsuccessful in passing my swimming test, I was discharged in 2019. I returned to HMS RALEIGH in January 2020 where I successfully completed phase 1 training. I proceeded to DCLPA for phase 2 of Supply Chain training, during the covid period, where I undertook a 4-week training course. On completion, I attended EBS where I spent only 6 weeks before moving to QEC to complete my task book.

I undertook my first sea draft as an AB1 on board HMS DAUNTLESS in 2021, going through its PIP regeneration project. I utilised this period to study remotely for a level 3 in Education and Training, in the hopes of mentoring fellow sailors to undertake their functional skills and GCSE courses.

Having spent just over 1 year on HMS DAUNTLESS, I then went to RNAS Yeovilton in 2022, where I undertook several Leading Hand roles and recommenced my studies of my LLB. I also actively promoted Diversity and Inclusion, hosting several cultural and educational events within the base.

After 13 months at RNAS Yeovilton, I took up the post of Policy Lead B at NCHQ within the People and Policy strategy team in 2023. Providing much needed support for personnel on the 9 protected characteristics and policy issues.

After promotion in 2023, I moved to FTSP in 2024 to support ships during their maintenance period. Continuing with the promotion and awareness of diversity and cultural awareness, I spare headed several events at HMS NELSON. These included Black History Month celebrations, collaborating with external stakeholders to bring the vision to a success, 2026 will see the 3rd year for these events.

I have now completed by LLB in Law and is now in Law School, studying for a LLM and BPC, alongside my day role, which now lies within Navy Digital. I live in Southsea with my 9yr old daughter and enjoys cooking, reading, movies, and sports.
